“Blue Formations” at Reykjavík Photo Museum

The exhibition “Blue Formations” by Danish artist Anne Marie Soerensen opened at the Reykjavík Museum for Photography this week.

The exhibition features water, lava and the wind “which stirs the natural elements” and is the result of the photographer’s travels to a beach near Eyrarbakki in 2009-2010, a press release states.

“I find my motives in the continuous movement of the water: waves coming in, getting sucked down into the dark sand or flowing back towards the sea. For every new wave and wind a new shape is formed,” Soerensen describes.

“Blue Formations” is her 12th solo exhibition. It is her first in Iceland but her photographs have also been on display in Denmark and the Faroe Islands.

The exhibition runs until September 21.
