Video Lets Armchair Travelers Visit Iceland in Virtual Reality

Jada Yuan, The New York Times’ 52 Places Traveler, has released a new 360° virtual reality video of her recent visit to Iceland, allowing would-be travelers to feel as though they are traveling around the country in person.

The nearly eight-minute video, shot in collaboration with NYT’s ‘Frugal Traveler’ Lucas Peterson, takes visitors from beautiful natural sites such as the Seljalandsfoss waterfall on the south coast and basalt columns at Hofsós in North Iceland. The video also follows Jada and Lucas as they get drinks in downtown Reykjavík, buy hot dogs, take pictures in lava fields, walk along a black sand beach, take a horseback ride in Skagafjörður in North Iceland, and more.

Watch the video on the NYT‘s website here.
