Building a career on painting with oil on canvas in the style of the old masters isn’t what most young artists dream of, but for Þrándur Þórarinsson, it was a natural fit. „I was always drawing as a kid. At one point, I was looking for inspiration, looking for things I found cool, artists that I liked. Then I discovered the old masters.” Figuring that these guys were simply very good at drawing, he’d found something to aspire to. “When I was at school, I made the decision that I wanted to be like them. If they could do it, I could too.”
