A leisure riders’ innitiative connected to the German horse web Töltkoten has launched an international petition on change.org in order to prevent a possible readmittance of the flash noseband in combination with curb bit like the traditional Icelandic bit (stangamel).
The topic is scheduled to be discussed at the upcoming FEIF conference on 6./7. february. The flash noseband had been banned from international FIPO competitions for several years. However, its use had still been allowed in breeding shows.
As reported, rumour had it that the FEIF breeding commitee would readmit the usage of the noseband. Later it turned out that the matter had only been discussd by the breeding commitee, but that a decision would be taken at the annual FEIF conference in february.
More than 4200 signatures from the international Icelandic horse community have been collected in the petition that started on 24th of january.
The Icelandic horse media has not reported on the petition so far.
