Iceland’s first circus, Sirkus Íslands, has pitched its tent at Vatnsmýri, just by the University of Iceland, and will give its first performances on Friday this week, mbl.is reports.
Sirkus puts on two shows – one a family-oriented daytime performance and the other an adult-only night show. Although the content varies somewhat, the same performers are involved in both productions, including aerialists, trapeze artists, jugglers, clowns, and others.
The circus will give performances on the weekends of July 13–15 and 20–22 in Reykjavík and will then travel to Akureyri for the Merchants’ Weekend holiday.
