Eurovision bookies are predicting success for Iceland’s entry to the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest. Daði & Gagnamagnið’s song Think About Things is currently topping winner prediction charts. The song has received endorsement from unlikely sources, including Russel Crowe, who shared the music video for the song last month.
Daði & Gagnamagnið won Iceland’s national Söngvakeppnin competition last Saturday, confirming that Think About Things would be the country’s official entry to the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest. The catchy dance tune was written by frontman Daði Freyr Pétursson, and features lyrics about his new-born baby.
“The song is about my little girl who was born in April of last year,” Daði told ESCBubble. “I am talking about the feeling you get in the first few days and weeks where you know that you love this person with all your heart even though you don’t really get that much interaction. In the start, she doesn’t do so much, so I am very excited to know what she thinks about all kinds of things.”
The music video for the song is approaching one million views on YouTube.
Iceland has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 32 times since 1986, but has yet to score a victory.
