Postcard Delivered after 30 Years

Hálfdán Einarsson, the mailman in Bolungarvík, the West Fjords, was surprised to receive a postcard on Friday, which was addressed to a man who had moved from the village many years ago and had since passed away. It turned out that the postcard had been sent on October 1, 1986.

Zufriedene Golfer, traurige Schifahrer

Das für die Jahreszeit ungewöhnlich warme Wetter in Island ruft unter Golfern mehr Freude hervor als bei Skifahrern. Am 4. Dezember veranstaltete der Golfklub von Selfoss bei fast 10˚C ein Turnier, bei Temperaturen also, die man eher im Sommer erwartet. Klub-Offizielle fragten sich schon, ob wohl auch an Silvester Golfwetter herrschen wird.
