Protected Building Demolished Without Permission

Contractors this week demolished Exeter House, on Tryggvagata in Reykjavík, against planning rules. All work on the site has been stopped and the City of Reykjavík is likely to report the demolition to the police for criminal investigation. The chairman of the planning committee describes the action as vandalism.

Starkes Beben im Vulkan Bárðarbunga

Um Mitternacht letzter Nacht hat sich am nördlichen Calderarand des Vulkans Bárðarbunga ein heftiges Erdbeben ereignet. Das Beben wurde mit einer Stärke von 4,2 gemessen und gehört damit zu den stärksten Beben in dem Vulkan, seit der Ausbruch im vergangenen Februar versiegt war.
