Link between Deaths and Hydrogen Sulfide Pollution

There are indications that there may be links between hydrogen sulfide coming from geothermal power plants Hellisheiðarvirkjun and Nesjavallavirkjun and the number of deaths among older people living in the vicinity of Reykjavík, according to a PhD project by Ragnhildur Finnbogadóttir at the University of Iceland.

Archaeologist Kristján Ahronson has concluded that Kverkarhellir, a manmade cave between waterfall Seljalandsfoss and farm Seljaland in South Iceland, was partly created around 800 AD, before the settlement of Iceland, which, according to sources, began in 874.

In the documents from Sony Pictures Entertainment, published by WikiLeaks yesterday, Icelandic director Baltasar Kormákur’s movie Everest, produced by Working Title, is discussed. Sony was planning a similar movie project at the same time and plots to kill Baltasar’s movie were mentioned in the leaked documents.

Amerikanische Cafe-Kette kommt nach Island

Die amerikanische Kaffeehauskette Dunkin’ Donuts hat einen Franchisevertrag mit der isländischen Supermarktkette 10-11 für 16 Cafefilialen unter dem Namen Dunkin’ Donuts, die in ganz Island eröffent werden sollen, hieß es gestern in einer gemeinsamen Pressemitteilung.
