Cardiac surgeon Tómas Guðbjartsson, a professor and senior physician at Landspítali National University Hospital, was voted Person of the Year by listeners of Rás 2 radio station on Wednesday. Tómas and his team recently saved a man who had been stabbed in the heart.

Price of Food in Iceland Increases

Changes to the value added tax (VAT) took effect yesterday, resulting in a higher price of food products, while the price of clothing, beauty products, medicine, alcohol, tobacco, furniture, phones, computers, cars and jewelries, among other products, will drop.
