The six finalists for the People category in the Iceland Review Photo Contest on Facebook have been chosen and voting is going well.

Seismic activity in Bárðarbunga volcano in the northwestern part of Vatnajökull glacier is ongoing. Around 300 earthquakes were recorded between midnight and 8:00 am this morning. The largest earthquake occurred just before 4:00 am and measured 3.0 in magnitude.

The results are in for the third part of the Iceland Review Photo Contest 2014, Buildings.

Twenty-four-year-old Icelandic programmer Bæring Gunnar Steinþórsson at CCP has set up a webpage showing the seismic activity under the Bárðarbunga volcano in 3D.

Poets and creative writing students in Reykjavík and York, England, have joined forces and launched the project ‘Word from a Bench’ in collaboration with Reykjavík UNESCO City of Literature, publishing fiction and poetry on benches in the public parks.
