Bárðarbunga nach altem Wikinger benannt

Der Vulkan Bárðarbunga unterhalb der Eisdecke des Vatnajökull, der seit letzter Woche vermehrte Bebentätigkeit zeigt und offenbar kurz vor einem Ausbruch steht, ist nach einem Siedler aus der Landnahmezeit, benannt: Bárður Bjarnason, auch Gnúpa-Bárður genannt, stammte aus dem Sognefjord in Westnorwegen.

The Icelandic Naming Committee rejected the name Clinton at its recent meeting. The committee made several rulings on July 30, most of which were positive, but Clinton was rejected as a middle name on the basis that it is not considered derived from local roots.

Party Members Declare Support for Interior Minister
