Earthquakes Keep Hitting North Iceland

siglufjordur_psTens of minor earthquakes occurred north of Siglufjörður in North Iceland yesterday, following an earthquake of a 3.2 magnitude which hit at 8 am in the morning. The epicenter of the series was in the eastern Eyjafjarðaráll, where seismic activity has been ongoing since October 20.

Nordic Countries Aim to Ban Smoking

cigarettes04_esaThe Welfare Committee of the Nordic Council, chaired by Icelandic MP Siv Friðleifsdóttir, announced in Helsinki yesterday that they want the Nordic countries to be smoke free by 2040. The committee will also work towards a 10 percent reduction in alcohol consumption in the Nordic countries by 2025.
