Nurses in Iceland Demand Pay Rise

landspitali-hallgrimskirkja_domNurses in Iceland are asking for a ISK 90,000 (USD 740, EUR 566) pay rise for nursing graduates. Around 300 nurses gathered in front of Landspítali, the national hospital, yesterday to protest the wage increase of hospital director Björn Zoëga by ISK 450,000 (USD 3,700, EUR 2,800).

Twelve Films Compete for RIFF’s Golden Puffin

The festival’s New Visions competitive section contains debut or student works by new directors. Last year’s prize went to Angelina Nikonova from Russia for Twilight Portrait.
