Reykjavík: Rekordkälte im Dezember

rvkpond-frozen_pkErst einmal in den vergangenen 60 Jahren war es Anfang Dezember in der isländischen Hauptstadt kälter als in diesem Jahr. Laut Meteorologe Trausti Jónsson war das 1961. Und man muss sogar bis ins Jahr 1936 zurückgehen, um einen ähnlich kalten Dezember zu finden, was die Kältedauer anbelangt.

Game of Thrones Causes Katla Eruption Concerns

myrdalsjokull-katla_psThe emergency hotline 112 received a call this morning where mysterious bright lights in the hills of the glacier Mýrdalsjökull were reported. Callers wondered whether an eruption had started in the volcano Katla, which lies underneath the icecap. It turned out that they were caused by the crew filming Game of Thrones.

New Party in Town
