death-announcementsMusician Ólafur Þórðarson passed away at the Grensásdeild rehabilitation ward of the Landspítali national hospital in Reykjavík yesterday. He suffered serious injuries when his son attacked him in his home over one year ago and never regained consciousness.

Suspected Reykjavík Shooter in Custody

policecar_psThe Reykjavík Metropolitan Police arrested a fourth suspect last week in connection with a shooting incident in the capital on November 18. A sawed-off shotgun was found in the home of the 29-year-old, who was sentenced to custody until December 8.

Ski Resorts Open in North Iceland

skiing-hlidarfjall02_psThree ski resorts opened in north Iceland last weekend, Hlíðarfjall in Akureyri, Böggvisstaðafjall in Dalvík and Skarðsdalur in Siglufjörður. Outside Reykjavík the slopes in Bláfjöll and Skálafell remain closed for now but the cross-country track is open.
