Icelandic Handball Legend Quits the Game

handball-bronze-logi_goLogi Geirsson, one of Iceland’s best handball players has decided to end his career due to chronic injuries he has been struggling with for the last two years. Geirsson was one of the star players in the Icelandic national team in the 2008 Olympics when Iceland won the silver and also won a bronze in the European Championship in Austria 2010. Handball is one of Iceland’s most popular sports.

Überwachungskameras beim nächsten Volksfest

vestmannaeyjar_psFünf Sexualdelikte wurden der Polizei während des drei Tage dauernden Thjódhátíd-Festivals angezeigt, das am vergangenen Wochenende auf den Westmännerinseln stattfand. Ein Überfall ereignete sich im Bereich der mobilen Toiletten, die angeblich von Kameras überwacht wurden. Auch beim Ein med öllu Festival in Akureyri in Nordisland wurde ein Sexualdelikt gemeldet. Anklage wurde in zwei der sechs Fälle erhoben.
