Kayak Adventurers Now by Reynisdrangar

reynisdrangar_psTwo men who are trying to circle Iceland in a kayak are now by Reynisdrangar in south Iceland. The two started in Húsavík on March 27. Riaan Manser, first person to cycle the 37,000km perimeter of Africa, and the disabled brother, Dan Skinstad, of former Springbok Rugby player Bobby Skinstad are kayaking their way around Iceland.

Icelandic Inflation Rising to 4.2%

inflationThe twelve month inflation is now 4.2% and rising. This is the highest level of inflation for 10 months. Wages rose by 4.25% on June 1. Vísbending, a weekly magazine on business and economics, says that unless the Icelandic krona gets stronger, 12 month inflation may well be over 6% at the end of the year.

Icelandic Brewery has to Expand to Keep up With Demand

beer_psThe owners of the Brewery in Árskógsströnd north of Akureyri are expanding the factory by 200 square meters to be able to put up more tanks for brewing. This is an increase of 40%. The investment is close to 40 million ISK and production capacity will rise from 380 thousand liters to 550 thousand liters per year of the beer Kaldi.
