Laugavegur Bookstore Goes Bankrupt

mal-og-menning-bookstore_psThe employees of the bookstore Bókabúd Máls og menningar (BMM) on Laugavegur 18, Reykjavík’s main shopping street, were informed in mid-February that the store had gone bankrupt. Its doors were shut on February 17. Allegedly, high rent contributed to BMM’s bankruptcy.

Reykjavík Clubs Win Handball Cups

fram-logoThe Reykjavík club Fram claimed the Iceland cup in women’s handball after a 25-22 victory against Valur, also from Reykjavík, in the capital’s Laugardalshöll arena on Saturday. However, in the men’s cup, Valur beat Akureyri from north Iceland 26-24.
