Reykjavík’s mayor, Jón Gnarr, has provoked anger from feminist city council member Sóley Tómasdóttir. In an interview with AFP, a French news agency, the mayor said that he liked porn on the internet. Tómasdóttir who is a member of the Left Green party is furious over the remarks. She demands that they be discussed in a council meeting on Thursday morning.

Yesterday Reykjavík was covered by a mist caused by volcanic ash. The mist formed a huge circle around the sun. An eerie atmosphere lay over the city and people who went outside felt uncomfortable, because of a foul smell. Some had problems breathing, especially people with colds, allergies or lung problems.

Eruption Still causing Problems

Icelanders are still feeling the consequences of the Eyjafjallajökull eruption. Yesterday a dark mist was lying over Reykjavík. Visibility was limited and people complained of a strange smell. Doctors advised those who are allergic or have weak lungs to stay inside.
