It‘s No Joke! Jón Gnarr Will Become Mayor of Reykjavík

In a joint news conference held on top of Aesufell 4 an apartment building in one of the suburbs of Reykjavík Dagur B. Eggertsson, vice chairman of the Social Democrats and Jón Gnarr, comedian and victor of the municipal elections in Reykjavík announced that Jón Gnarr of the Best Party will become mayor of Reykjavík for the next four years.

Another New Bee Species Settles in Iceland

Recently it was reported that a new bumblebee species had settled in Iceland but now it turns out that there were two new species that look alike. The first new species spotted was the new garden bumblebee (Lat. Bombus hypnorum) but now the common carder bee (Lat. Bombus pascuorum) has also joined the group of new settlers.

Mid-Summer Hikers Head for Eruption Site
