Reduced Traffic Rate in Iceland

Rising fuel prices seem to be having an impact on the use of cars in Iceland. A survey by the Icelandic Road Administration in 16 different locations on the Ring Road show that the traffic rate has decreased significantly during the first two months of this year.

Iceland Beats Portugal in Algarve Cup

The Icelandic national team in women’s football beat Portugal 3-0 in their final game in the Algarve Cup yesterday and placed ninth. The first half ended without goals but early in the second half Hólmfrídur Magnúsdóttir scored the first goal for Iceland.

No Results in London Icesave Talks

A four-hour meeting between the negotiation committees of Iceland, the UK and the Netherlands ended in London last night without any results. A new meeting has not been scheduled, yet the Icelandic committee is staying in London.

Isländer werden Icesave-Gesetz ablehnen

Eine neue Umfrage von Capacent Gallup ergibt, dass 74 Prozent der isländischen Wähler das Icesave-Gesetz bei der Volksabstimmung am 6. März zurückweisen werden, während 19 Prozent für das Gesetz stimmen und acht Prozent einen leeren Stimmzettel abgeben wollen.
