Iceland Boasts Largest Hydrogen Car Fleet in Europe

The Ford retailer in Iceland, Brimborg, and Icelandic New Energy received ten electric hydrogen cars of the make Ford Focus FCV yesterday. In addition to the two Ford Focus FCVs already in Iceland, and the country’s other ten hydrogen cars, Iceland now boasts the largest hydrogen car fleet in Europe.

Iceland’s HS Energy Goes into Foreign Ownership

Canadian Magma Energy acquired 41 percent of shares in the Icelandic HS Energy yesterday by taking over the shares of Hafnarfjördur municipality and Reykjavík Energy. Geysir Green Energy (GGE) holds a 57 percent stake, but GGE is owned by the banks Landsbanki and Íslandsbanki, which are in foreign ownership.
