In 1990, approximately seven percent of Icelandic men and 9.5 of women were overweight. In 2007, every fifth Icelander considered him or herself to be overweight, according to a survey by Erna Matthíasdóttir presented yesterday.

Two Icelandic Football Clubs Enter UEFA League

Kópavogur football club Breidablik secured its seat in the Union of European Football Associations Champions Women’s League on Sunday with a 7-0 victory over GRV Grindavík, placing placed second in the Icelandic Pepsi League. Icelandic champions Valur had already entered the UEFA League.

Íslandsbanki Presents New Solution for Debtors

The customers of Íslandsbanki, formerly Glitnir, will soon be able to change their foreign currency mortgages to non-indexed mortgages in ISK, which will lower the capital by 25 percent. Debtors who have indexed mortgages in ISK can have the indexation removed and the capital lowered by ten percent.
