Elín G. Gunnlaugsdóttir ist als erster Mensch mit einem Gleitschirm vom Snaefellsjökull in Westisland herabgesprungen. Sie sprang am 6. Juni aus 1.400 Meter Höhe nahe des Gipfels herunter und brauchte zehn bis 15 Minuten, um den Boden zu erreichen.
