New Publishing Contract on Laxness’s Books Signed

The heirs of Icelandic Nobel Prize in Literature laureate Halldór Laxness (1902-1998) have signed a new contract with publishing house Vaka-Helgafell on the republication of his works. The event took place at Gljúfrasteinn, the author’s home which is now a museum, on his birthday April 23.

Ideas on New Iceland Hospital Presented

The executives of the Landspítali national hospital in Reykjavík and the University of Iceland presented the ideas of Norwegian consultants on a new hospital building on Tuesday, involving that an extension be constructed to the current hospital building on Hringbraut and that the other building in Fossvogur be sold.
