Icelanders Efficient in Returning Bottles

Icelanders handed in over 93 million bottles and cans for recycling last year. Judging by numbers on production and sale of bottled and canned drinks in 2007, around 80 percent of these bottles were returned, which is a high percentage compared to other countries.

Record Berry Season Expected in Iceland

It seems as if blueberries and crowberries will ripen unusually early in Iceland this year due to a warm May. The berry season normally begins in late August, but berry pickers have already spotted black and blue berries in some places this year.
