World’s Most Beautiful Women Not Icelandic?

A popular Icelandic urban legend states that Iceland has the strongest men and the most beautiful women. This legend traces its foundations to the late 80’ and early 90’ when the Icelandic hulk, Jón Páll Sigmarsson dominated such competitions as the world’s strongest man and two Icelandic women, Linda Pétursdóttir and Hólmfrídur Karlsdóttir won the Miss World beauty contest.

Nature Awareness Concert Attracts Tourists

The outdoor concert featuring Sigur Rós and Björk scheduled for June 28 seems to be attracting people from abroad. The free concert will be held in Grasagardurinn (the Botanical Garden of Reykjavík). The aim of the concert is to increase awareness for Icelandic nature.
