Group Attacks Inhabitants in Reykjavík

A group of ten or 12 men armed with iron bars, sledgehammers, bats and an ax attacked the inhabitants of an apartment in the Reykjavík district of Breidholt on Saturday. Seven were injured, one seriously with severe head trauma and a collapsed lung.

Fifth West Fjords Music Festival a Success

The fifth annual Aldrei fór ég sudur (“I never went south”) music festival was held in Ísafjördur, the capital of Iceland’s West Fjords, on Friday and Saturday. According to its manager Hálfdán Bjarki Hálfdánarson it was the best attended festival to date.

Teenage Skier Hit by Snowmobile

A 14-year-old boy was injured in the Reykjavík skiing area in Mt. Bláfjöll on Sunday when he was hit by a snowmobile. He suffered a broken leg and collarbone and injuries to his face. The boy was discharged from intensive care yesterday.
