Prostitution became legal in Iceland after a new provision in the Penal Code was accepted by parliament on March 17. It is both legal to solicit sex and to buy sexual services, but it is illegal for a third party to profit from prostitution.

Stuck on car roof for two hours

The emergency service Ingunn at Laugarvatn, southwest Iceland, rescued two men from the roof of a car yesterday who were stuck in a lake caused by melting snow in Laugarvatnsvellir fields on the way to Thingvellir.
