The environmental committee of Reykjavík City Council has announced that it will take action on seagulls in Reykjavík and neighboring areas, as they are very prevalent in the city at the moment and many people have complained about them over the last few months, the Icelandic State Broadcasting Service reports.

Home nursing to be provided on a round-the-clock basis

Home nursing will be increased so that it can be provided in the evenings, at weekends and at night when necessary, said Health Minister Siv Fridleifsdóttir when presenting her aims for improving services for geriatrics at a press conference yesterday. The intention is for services to be provided over a 24-hour period in the larger towns in Iceland. Increased emphasis will be put on regular visits by family doctors to elderly people who are the recipients of home nursing.
