The Icelandic Marine Institute has postponed the search for capelin to the north of Iceland after an unsuccessful search by a fleet of vessels last week.

The President of Iceland, Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson, yesterday advised the ever-increasing group of Icelandic entrepreneurs who are now working and making money internationally to keep their feet on the ground and appreciate the society which fostered them and acknowledge their debt to it.

A middle-aged man in the small town of Ísafjörður in northwestern Iceland took his own life yesterday the day after his name and photograph were printed on the front page of DV, a tabloid-style newspaper which follows a “name and shame” policy on people suspected of criminal activity.
