Hundreds of mentally disabled homeless

Friends and Family of the Mentally Disabled, a subgroup of the grass roots organization Mental Care, was founded on Saturday. One guest said that nothing could replace the family as a source of support for the mentally disabled but the family also needed support.

ISK 66 billion profit for banks

Iceland’s three largest banks Kaupthing, Íslandsbanki and Landsbanki made ISK 66 billion profits in the first nine months of the year. The banks’s shareholders equity amounts to roughly ISK 350 billion, a somewhat larger number than the entire budget of Iceland.
