The Icelandic parliament is expected to vote today on whether to grant citizenship to former chess great Bobby Fisher citizenship. The bill reached parliament on Friday, after the bill was passed by a special committee.
Gudfinna Einarsdóttir is now the oldest Icelander on record. Yesterday, Ms. Einarsdóttir reached the age of 108 years and 46 days, surpassing the previous record set by Halldóra Bjarnadóttir, who lived to be 108 years and 45 days.
“It looks as if someone’s making blood sacrifices here at night, “ says Einar Pálmi Árnason, an inhabitant of Reykjavík yesterday. He has come across animal carcasses and internal organs in an open area near Réttarholtsskóli school in the past few weeks. Yesterday he found a whole dead sheep, and contacted police to have it removed.
