Exhibition posters have two major functions: to inform the public about an existing exhibition and to attract visitors to the museum or gallery hosting the exhibition.

The posters combine useful information, both words and graphics, on specific artistic events, and with time they become a unique documentation.

Reykjavík Art Museum recently received as a gift more than 100 of Erró’s posters, including exhibition posters, in addition to the 137 posters that were included in Erró’s generous gift to the museum in 1989.

This exhibition is the first opportunity the public has to view a selection of Erró’s posters from the artist’s various solo exhibitions in his career of 50 years.

The exhibition is curated by Danielle Kvaran. On display until March 14.
