Landsbanki has taken over the operations of Pizza-Pizza ehf., the franchise owner of Domino’s Pizza in Iceland, and all of the company’s shares in collaboration with Domino’s Pizza International, provided the Competition Authority will approve of the plans.
Pizza-Pizza runs 14 pizza takeout restaurants in Iceland, three of which are located outside the capital region, in Akureyri, Akranes and Keflavík, skessuhorn.is reports.
Landsbanki will appoint a board for the company and reorganize its finances and debts in the coming weeks. Preparations for the company’s sale have already begun. The sales process is expected to be launched in a few weeks and completed in June.
The exchange of power in Iceland took place yesterday when the government of Sigmundur Davíð Gunnlaugsson formally took over from that of Jóhanna Sigurðardóttir and ministers exchange keys.
