A woman in her twenties was sentenced to one year in prison for being party to an assault in Mosfellsbær in Reykjavík District Court this week. Her three accomplices were all given six-month suspended sentences.
The four women attacked a fifth in her home, shaved off her hair and forced her to undress, ruv.is reports.
The woman who received the longest sentence violated her probation with the assault. She was given an eight-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, in October 2011 for a drug-related violation.
The victim’s claim for damages was rejected for technical reasons: it wasn’t mentioned in the charge, only in the follow-up indictment.
The four perpetrators all confessed to the crime before the court.
