The plane landed safely at 10:45 pm and the emergency level was lifted. The 165 people onboard the 757 Boeing were unharmed but were offered crisis counsel, visir.is reports.
A failure was reported in the aircraft’s hydraulic control mechanism shortly before its scheduled landing at Keflavík. It is uncertain what caused the failure but the aircraft will now be carefully examined and repaired before put back into use.
