The capital area ski resort Bláfjöll is scheduled to open tomorrow. Work is underway to prepare the slopes for visitors.
However, the continued operation of the capital area ski resorts is uncertain as the service agreement expires at the end of the year and a new agreement is yet to be made, Morgunblaðið reports.
Service has had to be wound back due to cuts in funding.
Last winter, 57,942 people went skiing at Bláfjöll.
