Icelandic musician Ólafur Arnalds has signed with record company Universal for the release of his next album in February.
Ólafur says he has been in negotiations since April and is happy with the deal. “I have my special needs as an artist and don’t want to sacrifice anything. It worked out in the end,” he said, adding that the contract will open up new doors for him, Fréttablaðið reports.
The musician has been signed with British record company Erased Tapes for the last five years. “That has gone incredibly well and this is just a different package,” he explained.
Icelandic band Of Monsters and Men have also signed with Universal.
