The double album Latin Faculty, with lyrics written by various authors and performed by nine vocalists, including Eivør Pálsdóttir, Guðrún Gunnarsdóttir, Þór Breiðfjörð and jazz singers Marína Ósk Þórólfsdóttir and Erla Stefánsdóttir, was recently released by Ingvi Þór Kormáksson.

CD 1 includes songs in English and Portuguese, as well as two instrumentals, while CD 2 consists of the same songs but sung in Icelandic. The CD is described as “Red hot and romantic Latin music from Iceland.”
Track 15, ‘The Image of You,’ has been nominated in the Jazz category of the 2012 HMMA’s (Hollywood Music in Media Awards).
A number of Icelandic artists who performed at the Iceland Airwaves music festival earlier this month have also released new albums in recent weeks. Among them are former Bellatrix vocalist Eliza Newman with her solo album Heimþrá, released on October 25.
The twin sisters of Pascal Pinon have also announced the release of their second album Twosomeness.

Prospective Prime Minister Sigmundur Davíð Gunnlaugsson, chair of the Progressive Party, and prospective Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs Bjarni Benediktsson, chair of the Independence Party, presented their government agreement at a press conference in the old district school at Laugarvatn in South Iceland today.

On the way back to Reykjavík following this morning's news conference, at which the new government agreement was formally presented, the next Prime Minister of Iceland, Sigmundur Davíð Gunnlaugsson, and his assistant, Jóhannes Þór Skúlason, who was driving, were stopped for speeding.
