Keflavík Airport among ‘Europe’s Best to Get Stuck in’

Keflavík International Airport was voted among the ‘Best Airports to Get Stuck in’ according to a recent survey by online travel-dating website MissTravel.com. Reykjavík Domestic Airport on the other hand was voted one of the worst spots to be delayed.

The poll is based on the views of 5,000 of the website’s users in Europe. Keflavík International Airport ranked eighth while London Heathrow took the top spot.

Respondents based their reasoning on amenities, cleanliness, entertainment, food and shopping. MissTravel.com CEO Brandon Wade said in a press release that entertainment is important for passengers while they wait.

“I fly every other week and have been through my fair share of travel woes. The first thing I look for if my plans go sour, is a place to work, and a good meal, which surprisingly, is not easy to come by in every airport,” he explained.

The results of the poll:

1. London Heathrow Airport

2. Amsterdam-Schiphol Airport

3. Malaga Airport

4. Stockholm Airport

5. Frankfurt International Airport

6. Gatwick Airport

7. Lisbon Airport

8. Keflavík International Airport

9. Madrid-Barajas Airport

10. Brussels Airport
