Strong Wind in South and West Iceland

The strongest wind speeds in Iceland as of 10:30 today, according to the Icelandic Road Administration metering stations, are as follows:

Kjalarnes, just north of the capital: 115 km/h, 71m/h (with gusts of up to 187 km/h or around 51 m/s, 116 miles/h or around 30 m/s).

Southern part of Snæfellsnes peninsula: 126 km/h, 78 miles/h.

Lómagnúpur, South Iceland: 104km/h, 65 miles/h.

A storm warning was issued for various parts of Iceland yesterday morning with strong winds and freezing temperatures prevailing in Reykjavík.
