The state prosecutor is investigating the death of a man at the police station on Hverfisgata in Reykjavík. The man suddenly went into cardiac arrest around midnight on Sunday and attempts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful.
According to a police statement released yesterday, the man had been arrested shortly before the incident after reports of public nuisance in the city center, ruv.is reports.
Police arrested the man at the scene and brought him to the police station where he died. The state prosecutor was notified of the case and will investigate it, as is the common procedure.
