Iceland Airwaves Music Festival
Over 220 artists will perform at various venues around Reykjavík at this year’s Iceland Airwaves music festival which runs from October 31 to November 4.
With over 450 shows at 39 off-venues, those without tickets (they sold out in August) can still enjoy the artists and atmosphere that have made Airwaves so popular.
Rock veterans Swans, hip-hop ensemble Shabazz Palaces, and THEESatisfaction from the United States join Americana folk group The Barr Brothers from Canada and Kwes from the United Kingdom.
Other international acts include one of Rolling Stone’s ‘Fricke Picks’ in 2010, Moss, from the Netherlands, Thee Attacks from Denmark, and Ghostpoet from the United
Kingdom.
From Iceland, cult rockers HAM, electro-legend Hermigervill, synthesizing 80s throwback Berndsen, My Bubba & Mi, reggae outfit Ojba Rasta, Sudden Weather Change, Cheek Mountain Thief, pop princess Thorunn Antonia, Elín Ey, Eldar, and folk maestro Ásgeir Trausti will join international stars Of Monsters and Men, FM Belfast, Ólafur Arnalds, Agent Fresco, Brain Police, Mammút, Kiriyama Family, Tilbury and headliners Sigur Rós.
