Icelandair was the most punctual of all members of the Association of European Airlines (AEA) in September, demonstrating punctuality of 92.5 percent in longer airways and 93.9 percent in shorter and average airways.
“Combined, the punctuality is 93.5 percent and the airline ranks first among 25 international airlines in the survey,” as it says in a press release quoted by Fréttablaðið.
Icelandair also leads in punctuality over the course of this year, with 90.7 percent.
Earlier this year it was reported that the punctuality of Icelandic airlines at Keflavík International Airport had greatly improved, attributed mostly by the improvement of Iceland Express.

The road to Höfn, a 1,690-person harbor town by the fjord Hornafjörður, is lined with reindeer. Whole herds of the wild horned animals rest peacefully on withered pastures, grace next to sheep and horses and bounce along the road. Soon, Vatnajökull, Europe’s largest glacier and the region’s biggest attraction, comes into view. Looming over Höfn, its outlet glaciers flow down from the mountains on which the bright white icecap rests.
