ATMO, a new store featuring products by 60 Icelandic designers, will open on Laugavegur in downtown Reykjavík next month. At the same time, several design stores which will join ATMO, such as Nikita and Mundi, will close.
“This will be the largest fashion and design house of its kind [in Iceland],” director of ATMO Ásta Kristjánsdóttir told Fréttablaðið.
According to Ásta, there are plans to include a show room for foreign buyers as well as to hold courses and workshops to strengthen the Icelandic design sector in general.
