Iceland startup ReMake Electric was recently awarded the 2012 Europe Early State Investment Opportunity Award by Frost & Sullivan market research and consulting company.

“ReMake Electric provides sustainable energy management solutions that help customers optimise their energy usage,” Frost & Sullivan Senior Analyst Vinod Cartic states in a press release on the company’s website.
ReMake Electric creates savings on the energy bills of its customers, primarily based in Europe, through the development of electrical metering products. The company serves both residential and commercial customers, among them IKEA and Coca Cola.
The award is presented to the company which has demonstrated excellence in its intellectual property, the experience of its management, its funding history and quality of its investors.

Chairman of the Progressive Party Sigmundur Davíð Gunnlaugsson will become Iceland’s next prime minister and leader of the Independence Party, Bjarni Benediktsson, will take up the position of Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs, as reported in the Icelandic media yesterday.

The festival Reykjavík Music Mess kicks off at KEX Hostel in the center of the capital with an opening party on May 23 at 8 pm. An art exhibition themed around the participating bands will open at the occasion and Boogie Trouble will play a few songs. Entry is free.
