The annual lighting of Yoko Ono’s Imagine Peace Tower will be streamed live via webcam from 8 pm local time (4 pm ET) today.
The tower was erected on the island of Viðey off Reykjavík in 2007 in memory of Ono’s late husband John Lennon and as a symbol of their continuing campaign for world peace.
The tower is lit each year on October 9, John’s birthday, until December 8, the day of his death, as well as from December 21 to December 28 for Winter Solstice, on New Year’s Eve and from March 21 to March 28, to mark the first week of spring.
