Icelandic actor Jón Páll Eyjólfsson has just arrived back from England where he auditioned for a role in the sixth Harry Potter movie, titled Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.
“Everything is in a very sensitive stage but it is certainly exciting and it would be great if I get the role,” Eyjólfsson told Fréttabladid. He would not reveal for which role he auditioned.
Fréttabladid interviewed some Harry Potter fans, who believed Eyjólfsson may have auditioned for the role of young Voldemort.
“I have met the people who are behind this film and I have read from the script. At this stage you only get to see parts of the script and there is a lot of secrecy about this whole thing,” Eyjólfsson said.
The actor has been asked to come back for the next round of auditions. It will be revealed in May whether he will participate in the next Harry Potter movie or not.
Eyjólfsson graduated from the acting school East 15 in London in 2000.
One of his school mates was Steven Kloves, who wrote the script for Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. Kloves was the one who suggested Eyjólfsson for a role in the movie.
The exchange of power in Iceland took place yesterday when the government of Sigmundur Davíð Gunnlaugsson formally took over from that of Jóhanna Sigurðardóttir and ministers exchange keys.

One of the last tasks of Steingrímur J. Sigfússon while in office as minister of industries and innovation was to issue a regulation on Monday extending the reserve for whales in Faxaflói bay, off Reykjavík in Southwest Iceland. The regulation took affect at midnight.
